Into the call of Beauty

Beauty comes when the night holds sway, and the forest is free from strangers”.

Rainer Maria Rilke

The invisible embrace of beauty is everywhere but how do we coalesce with the presence of beauty when that divine presence has been sent into exile in our modernity.  This 7-part series is an exploration into this old idea where we may just discover the depths of an old song stirring at the bottom of the well, perhaps we will learn to befriend dragons or to weave with the silk thread reknitting ourselves back into the fabric of an alive animate earth.

This is not about evaluating or interpreting what beauty is, rather an exploration into our capacity to open and receive beauty, to be moved in each moment by the choir of the invisible, by the organ of beauty, the heart. This is about how beauty allures us deeper into our larger rich tapestry of a soulful life.

As we move through chaotic and troubled times this is a countermove, an exploration of hope, compassion, and a dance with the invisible essence of beauty’s enfolding. The old idea is where beauty dwells, there is soul.

This series is for you if you are interested in joining a community where we embody and explore soulfully:

·       The landscape of beauty

·       Beauty and the imagination

·       Beauty and the senses

·       What happens when beauty is in exile

·       The grief of beauty

·       Dark and strange beauty

·       The emergent organ of beauty

Each week we begin with an opening poem before settling together and descending into a sharing on the weekly theme. On completion of sharing we cross the threshold into an experiential exploration before closing with sharing, insights and takeaways from the week.

Beauty is the way the gods touch our senses, reach the heart and attract us into life”. James Hillman
